University of Missouri, Columbia

Description

A nice aerial shot of the University of Missouri's main campus in Columbia, MO. Mizzou was the first public university established west of the Mississippi River in 1839, and has a rich history. The columns in the lower-left of the photo originally were a part of Academic Hall (Mizzou's first building) which burned down in the late 1800's. The entire building was a total loss, but the columns still remain today. Jessie Hall, the towering dome building in the background, and the other surrounding buildings, were built thereafter. Although Mizzou left the Big 12 conference for the SEC in 2011, we do, in fact, still hate Kansas.
